Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Verevel. By downloading, signing up for, or using the Verevel app, verevel.app, or any related Verevel-provided service (collectively, the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
What the service does
Verevel is a discovery platform that turns place recommendations seen on social media into a personal travel map. Currently only Instagram is supported; other platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Xiaohongshu, etc.) will be added once we have a documented, ToS-compliant ingestion path for each. Core features include:
- Parse Instagram public posts via Meta's official oEmbed endpoint to extract place names.
- See your saves visualized on a personal map, organized by category or trip, with your own notes.
- Invite friends to co-edit maps and share itineraries.
- Leave honest ratings and takes after visiting, contributing to the KOL credibility score.
- Use AI tools to draft trip plans.
We may add, change, or discontinue features from time to time. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
Accounts and security
Most Verevel features require an account. You can sign in through a third-party identity provider. The information you give us must be true, accurate and up to date.
- You must be at least 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions) to use the Service.
- One account per person, as a rule. Do not impersonate anyone or sign up using false information.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe (including any third-party sign-in account) and for all activity that happens through your account.
- Contact us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.
Your content and the licence you grant us
The content you create or upload on Verevel — including saved links, maps, notes, ratings, take-aways and photos (collectively, "User Content") — remains yours.
To deliver the Service, you grant Verevel a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable licence (limited to parties needed to operate the Service, such as cloud providers) to:
- store, transmit, copy and process your User Content;
- display content you have chosen to share on a shared map to the members you invited;
- use de-identified, aggregated data (that cannot be tied back to any individual user) for analytics that improve the Service, compute the KOL Credibility Score, and study usage trends.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account — except for copies retained by other members of a shared map you contributed to (those copies are governed by those members' choices).
You warrant that you hold all the rights needed to upload your content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
Special note on third-party social links
When you share a third-party social platform link (e.g. Instagram) with Verevel, you represent that the link points to public content and that you have the right to save the place information mentioned in it for personal use. Verevel only retrieves data through that platform's official public endpoints (e.g. Meta's oEmbed) and only stores the parsed factual data (place name, address, coordinates, category) plus the source URL (kept solely to attribute the original creator). We do not cache, reproduce, or publicly display the original post body or any media.
If you are the original creator of such content and believe it should not be processed this way, please contact us via Section 13 below — we will remove the relevant records within a reasonable time.
Acceptable use
While using Verevel, you must not:
- break any applicable law or violate any third-party right (including intellectual-property, privacy and likeness rights);
- upload false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, hateful, violent, sexual, or content that exploits minors;
- collect, scrape, or aggregate other users' data, or stalk or harass other users;
- send automated, bot, or scripted traffic at the Service, or otherwise cause abnormal load on purpose;
- try to break, reverse-engineer or bypass the Service's security or access controls;
- abuse the AI parsing or map APIs (for example, repeatedly triggering them just to burn through a third-party quota);
- fake KOL recommendations, manipulate ratings, or game the credibility score in any way;
- use shared-map invites for spam, phishing or fraud;
- access, copy or redistribute another user's private saves without permission.
Third-party content and links
Verevel parses the social links you paste and fetches their public information (title, description, thumbnail, and so on). Copyright in that third-party content remains with the original creator or platform — Verevel only shows a summary for your personal saving and sharing purposes.
We cannot guarantee that third-party content is accurate, current, or lawful. When you click an external link out of Verevel, you are subject to that destination's own terms.
If you are the original creator and want a specific post's parsed result removed, see the IP notice process in section 12.
Verevel's content and trademarks
All elements of the Service — including but not limited to source code, design, layout, trademarks ("Verevel" and the Verevel mark), copywriting, and official images — belong to Verevel or its licensors, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service on supported devices for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not reproduce, adapt, distribute or publicly transmit any element of Verevel without our prior written consent, and you must not remove any copyright or trademark notices.
AI output: nature and limits
Verevel uses AI (including large language models) to parse post text, extract place information, and draft trip suggestions. Please note:
- AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or hallucinated. Always double-check important details (addresses, opening hours, prices) yourself.
- Trip suggestions are for reference only and are not professional travel, transportation or safety advice.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verevel is not liable for losses arising from reliance on AI output.
Paid features (if any)
Verevel is free today. If we launch paid plans (for example, advanced planning tools or extra storage) in the future, we will publish the payment terms, auto-renewal rules and refund policy separately and make them clear before you buy. Purchases made through a mobile app store are also subject to that store's terms.
Termination
Your right: You can delete your account at any time through in-app settings, or email verevel.support@gmail.com to request deletion.
Our right: If you seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms, engage in unlawful conduct, or pose a risk to the Service or other users, we may suspend or permanently terminate your account and access without advance notice. For terminations outside of those situations, we will give reasonable advance notice.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as the content licence already granted under section 4, liability limits, intellectual-property and dispute resolution — survive termination.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verevel makes no warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, or the accuracy of third-party content.
Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verevel and its affiliates, employees and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages (including but not limited to lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill), whether under contract, tort or any other theory.
For direct damages attributable to Verevel, our aggregate liability is capped, to the maximum extent permitted by law, at the greater of: (a) the amount you paid Verevel for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) NT$1,000.
IP notice and takedown
We respect intellectual property. If you believe content on Verevel infringes your copyright or other rights, please send a written notice (email is fine) to verevel.support@gmail.com with:
- the rights-holder's identity and contact details;
- the specific right you believe has been infringed;
- the specific location of the allegedly infringing content on Verevel (e.g. URL or place ID);
- a written statement that the claim is made in good faith and that the information is accurate.
We will review and respond within a reasonable time, including by removing or disabling the content where appropriate.
Third-party services and stores
Verevel integrates with various third-party services, each governed by its own terms. By using Verevel you are also subject to those terms where applicable.
Apple App Store: If you obtain the App through the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and Verevel — not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce the parts that apply to you.
Google Play: If you obtain the App through Google Play, the relevant Google Play terms also apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email and update the "Effective" date on this page. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, please stop using the Service and feel free to delete your account.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms — their formation, validity, interpretation and performance — are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), excluding its conflict-of-laws rules.
For any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service, the parties will first try to resolve it in good faith. If that fails, the parties agree that the Taipei District Court in Taiwan will have jurisdiction as the court of first instance — without prejudice to consumer-protection or other statutory consumer rights.
General provisions
- Entire agreement: these Terms together with the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and Verevel about the Service, and supersede any prior oral or written agreements.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
- No waiver: our failure or delay in exercising any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms to a third party without our prior written consent. We may assign them within reasonable limits.
- Force majeure: Verevel is not liable for delays or service disruption caused by events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, war, major internet incidents, third-party service outages, etc.).
